Short Trip to Philippines

Hello Everybody,Sometime back Picasso & myself visited our Sister Club, the Rotaract Club of Paraiso Quezon City. The above photos were some extracted photos from our trip there. One fine day, I just raised up the idea of going to the Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference with Picasso. Since APRRC is going to be at Phils, I propose to Picasso that we visited our sister club too...The next thing, we know like action speaks louder than words in RAC Marina City, we were onboard Tiger Airways making our there to reunite with our Rotaract brothers & sisters in Quezon City. And they all say a picture speaks a thousand words, without further ado... please enjoy the photos' spread ^^

Saturday..my favourite day of the week

I was out with the Rotaractors of Rotaract Club of Queenstown doing community service. Man, it was really enjoyable and meaningful. The community we reached out was the Children Aid Society which was some where between Ngee Ann Polytechnic and SIM. For the first time, I don't know what to do with kids. Usually I am pretty good playing with kids ok...like 1 to 2 kids that's fine....But suddenly you got like nearly 20 over kids in a very limited space running around, screaming and sometimes verging on beating each others that is pretty tough.

You see the group of kids we were taking care of this time were from underpriviledged and/or single parent families. Suddenly they like see so many Kors Kors & Jies Jies around playing with them...They were like competing with each other for our attention. They see treats and rewards very seriously. Especially if one child have like treats from us...They will ask why they don't have...Scary and harrowing I say...I have to personally separate some of them who bullies each other...Especially the elders one...and don't be surprise the younger one are prettty "violent" too....All in all it was real fun...

My team - Team 4 came out first for the sketch! lol...We acted out the story of the 3 little pigs with the children...Funnie... Next upcoming Rotaract event will be the X'mas Party for Kids.... Having gained an experience this time around, I am sure how to work around kids now...

I celebrated my 25th bday at O Bar with my colleagues (until 4am) and the Rotaractors of D3310 at RDA 2006. Quite fun to have a group of cool friends with to celebrate: Tiny Tony, Ugin, Jude, Cheryl, YC, Jimmy, Vera, Fauzi, Imran, Pretti & Sunnypal. Heartfelt appreciations to all the friends for well wishes: Jasper, Tristan, Lilian, Zack, Bingxian, Dharm, Pearls, Ee Lin, Dee, Korina, Anthony, Jaslyn, Benedict, Mona, Siguo, Velary, Shirley, Weiwei, Jackie, Anastasia, Ivan Lee. I hope I didn't missed out any one.

My uncle called today to ask me to help him install the internet connection for the new computer he got for Daren and Joey my cousins and I gladly obliged.

My cousins are in P3 and they required an internet connection for the school work I heard from my uncle. Well well the first time I had an Internet connection was when I was sec 3. Still remember Er Wynn coming over to my place and install my Pacific net installers for me.

With drawn comparisions between me and my cousins I think they are going to benefit tremendously to being introduce to IT at such a young age. In this fast moving technology time, technology are changing every day....Today some computer engineer might comes up with a fast computer processor, tomorrow this time again someone might design a even faster one....

Similar, the generations' gaps are widening between people who knows how to use the computer and those who do not...I see my parents and uncles and aunties see computers as somethings they called "Catched no mouse". Apparently they had difficulties navigating through Windows. They were so worried that the wrong click will delete all the files from the computer and rendered the computer unuseable any more.

On the other hand of the spectrum you get computer savy kids who at the age of 14 - 17 and are already dissembling and reassembling their computers at ease..Mind you at 15 I was only learinig how to minimize and maximize a computer window....

Technology: Embrace it today or be a dinosaur

Today is my presentation for International Marketing 450310. Case study on AIDS, Condoms & Carnival which I will be presenting with David & Han.

I got my pay for attending the customer service training haha! The moolah is about $73.50 for two days of training which I thought is a pleasant surprise from my new company. Well well. Not telling you guys where I am based though :X

Dear Fellow Rotaractors of D3310 & Friends,

Our Rotaractors (Rotaract Club of Marina City - or RACMC for short) will be taking part in the Lilies by the River 2005 Grand Finale Event on 11 Sep 2005 in an effort to raise funds both for the community as well as for our club.

Towards this end, we will be running a game stall at the event on a revenue share basis with the organisers, Viriya Community Services, and appeal for all Rotaractors of District 3310 to show their support in the purchase of tickets and/or the donation of prizes for this worthy event.
